Reiki for Grief-Related Illness

Since your overall energy is depleted when you are grieving, it isn’t uncommon to experience grief-related illness. This is because your energy centers can become blocked or unbalanced.

Headache: This happens when your sixth chakra is affected. The grief- related emotions that contribute to this physical illness are pessimism, fear, and worry.

Heartache/Chest Pains: This happens when your fourth chakra is affected. The grief-related emotions that contribute to this physical illness are sadness, loss of love, hopelessness, despair, fear, jealousy, and anger.

Insomnia: This happens when your sixth chakra is affected. The grief- related emotions that contribute to this physical illness are materialism, skepticism, and worry.

REIKI ACTIVITY WHEN FEELING ILL

Reiki is very beneficial when you are not feeling well. You can send Reiki to the part of your body that is feeling ill or is out of sorts. For example, when I had a cold, I sent Reiki to my head to stop my nose from running and to minimize my headache. It was amazing how much better I felt after just a few hours. You can repeat this activity as needed.

Sit in a comfortable position or chair. Close your eyes.

Breathe in for 5 counts. Breathe out for 5 counts.

Feel your body start to relax.

Focus on the part(s) of your body that feels ill.

Place your hands over the affected part(s), and send Reiki energy.

Say “I am healthy and my energy is balanced.”

Breathe in for 5 counts. Breathe out for 5 counts.

Slowly open your eyes.

Give thanks.

Reminder: Reiki is not a replacement for traditional medical treatment.
